Short Trackin’

The first race of the Winter short track series went down on saturday, with good results from the R.T.A !

Kyle Black

pulled a strong 2nd place in Beginner ON A SINGLE SPEED AND AFTER DROPPING HIS CHAIN!

i felt pretty good about 4th out of 15 in the Single Speed catagory… Considering that the guy who pulled 1st place is a sponsored pro and the only one on the lead lap who uses the SS catagory to warm up for expert! 2nd place went to Ross Doswell who was the SS catagory winner for last years series, and 3rd was Jack Croutch… the founder of our local mountain bike club / trail maintaners / trail advocates & a hard wheel to hold!

there i am holding off Dicky and Lee

and cory raced a geared bike made out of aluminum that wasnt black?

but the race wasnt with out drama! about ten minutes before the race began a disgruntled Lucky Cycles customer got in my face and told me that i was “in big trouble buddy” and for some reason thought that i sabbotaged his bike by replacing the bottom three cogs on his cassette!?!

i cant wait untill i have to deal with that guy again!…

My first visit to BLOGville this year

Here’s to 2006.
It was a lot better than 2005, being consistantly employed & having not gotten mugged and beaten senslessly in a parking garage afterall. I’m even getting feeling back in my teeth & gums around the metal plate!.
Let’s make the best of this 2007 and make resolutions for the greater good that are not selfish. Resolve to arm your compound well! Resolve to breathe clean air! Resolve to only help those who are willing to help them self and others too. Resolve to spend wisely.
Did we learn lessons this year? Did we learn lessons this week? did we spend this past time the way we were intended? the way we wanted? did we meet the demands of our friends and our familly?
It doesnt really matter much i reckon, as long as we were who we are and made memories.
I gained a bunch of memories this year, mountain bike racing, summer beach trip (e-mail me if youwant some shameful pictures), gaining bike access to the concrete skatepark, making friends out of bad situations (i’m talking about you G!), 24 Hours of BOOTY, MS150, FREE PBR!, Drunk Chris!, Sober Cory!, PHUCK PHILLADELPHIA!, working hard, hardly working, beers on the job, new tattoos, Time Trialing @ Lowes Motor Speedway, Alley Cat racing & the first anual Critical Mess, getting low tech, tall bikes and choppers, you tube videos of Mitch Hedberg and Jim Gafigan. Welding, Brazing, Breaking, R*T*A!, Athens road trip, Slaughterama!, SHOW ME THE PINK!, the rock quary, Washing gasolene off in a hotel swimming pool @ 3 am fully clothed after a Lucero show.
we know there are more and we know what we have to match in 07′.
Attention to detail, learing from mistakes and accomplishments, the things i consider “gaines”
I gained a lot this past year. I gained a business, i gained contact with people i hadnt had the courage to contact, i realized finally why my step dad used to say to me “Drew you just dont think sometimes” when i’d screw up.
Alli have to do to make 2007 as good if not better than 2006 is to follow out goals, not worry so much about other people and get a damn hair cut.
Happy New Year

So for 2007? well we got the Winter Short Track races
