I hope every one had a great thanksgiving.

i made it through 2 familly dinners with absolutly no bike riding despite the sweet weather (trails would have been shite anyways after the rain)

i dropped a few christmas hints and picked up a few ideas too, i guess actually being around the familly kind of pushes you into the holiday mood a little.

if any one is interested:

we’ll set the party date on the day of the drawing

BE FAT!

The Future

i’ve been giving the future a lot of thought lately. i’ts probobly about time to start making some moves.
i’ve been interested in learning to weld for a while, especially with interest in making bicycle frames. the price of going to UBI or Yamaguchi frame class is pretty expensive, but add to the cost travel and time away from the real world and its almost unrealistic.
recently i found that Brew Bikes right here in NC up in ashe county has a class. for the price of 1500$ (same as the yamaguchi class and a lot cheaper than the UBI class) you get to learn ALL methods of steel bike construction, you also get to powdercoat / apply your own finish in a smaller class (limited to 6) and in just 5 days rather than the two weeks you have to sacrifice for the other classes. the days are just closer to 10 or 11 hours.
so now i’m at a place where this is all i am asking for for christmas. if i can make my 500$ deposit by jan 1, i will be able to scrimp and save for the rest.
who knows? this could be just the thing that takes Lucky Cycles to the next page… offering frame repair! or fully tooling out the back room for custom steel goodness. thankfully we have a mostly successful shop going and we dont owe any one any money, but this time of year we barely make ends meat with out inventory. that is the downside of basing your bicycle business around repair and it is also the reason i am working part time for mercury messengers.
speaking of mercury messengers, in about an hour i have to ride out into this messy weather and fill in for team dicky thanks for going out of town when the weather is shitty!
well, enough rambling for now. buy me lotto tickets so i can further my education.

Time to stop being so slack.

I’ve been slacking with this blog lately. i’ve typed out and deleted a handful of posts lately most of them because with out pictures they are worthless. i really need a new digital camera. i have two sitting right here, one that will turn on but the auto focus mechanism keeps fucking up. i sent that off to get fixed under warranty once but it happened again and the second time it cost 38$ to fix it. its out again.

the other camera i gave to melissa for christmas last year and it was a great little camera untill the month before our summer beach trip that it just quit opening the lens flap.

any one up for getting me a camera for christmas? any one up for letting me borrow one for about 2 or 3 weeks?- it would benefit the blog tremendously.

speaking of benefit, this sunday is the Save Phils Face Jam at Grayson Skatepark. saturday night in G’boro is a video premeire that also benefits Phil’s medical costs. peep this link for info: 2069 a Pimpske Odyssey should be fun, i’m providing the fireworks (if your not familliar with team pimpske you wouldnt know that fireworks are more important than breathing… check out Pimpskestatebmx.com)

in other news i got started getting tattoo’d on wednesday on my chest wich is boney. i should have 1 or 2 more sittings before i am done and i think i’m going to need percasets or valium to get through this if any one has any spare- no seriously. Ashley of Winston Salem is doing the work, she rules at picking / applying colors to bold lines.

thats about it for today, if any of you blog readers have bikes at the shop, try to come get them before sunday. we have some work to do int the back room and we dont want to accidently put the sawzall through your top tube

SUNDAY!

i watched that guy up there lick a mans penis on stage last night. against my will. i AM scared

that being said. a few things coming up. next sunday november 12, BigStampede bicycle swap meet i hope to get rich. then saturday the 18th TEAM PIMPSKE PRESENTS: 2069 a pimpske odyssey video debut. with a benefit at the concrete skatepark the next day to help out our buddy Philthy Phil Jones who had an unfortunate accident messing up his face at a skatepark in FLA.

Lee and i concluded that as adults with a BMX riding past, when we try to go ride BMX bikes these days we do more driving around being indecisive or drinking / scouting spots than actual riding. we WILL ride some dirt jumps this comming weekend though. bet on it.

I have been bike messengering again part time for the past few weeks. i’ve been enjoying it, maybe i’ll try to pick up a few days more per week to help cope with the slow season at the shop.
